FAQs
Below I have listed out some common questions that I receive.
If you do not find an answer to your question get in touch.
What can I expect from the first session?
Often our free 20 minute consultation will provide a quick overview of what brings you to counselling. So our first session becomes about laying the foundation and gaining a clearer understanding about what makes you, you. I like to explore what has led you to this moment, what is working for you and what isn’t, and where you want to go. I appreciate the role that culture, faith, family, community, self care, personality, and lifestyle plays in each unique story. We start there and move together towards the change, growth and healing you are seeking.
What are the fees for the sessions?
Individual Session – 50 minutes – $145
Couples/Joint Session – 65 minutes – $175
Are sessions covered?
Most extended health plans cover counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). All sessions are private pay and a receipt will be emailed to you directly once payment is received. This receipt can be submitted through your Service Provider to claim reimbursement.
Are there virtual and in-person options?
Currently all sessions are offered virtually via Zoom. I will email a zoom link prior to every session. It is my hope that in-person sessions will be an option in the future. All modalities I offer, including EMDR, can be facilitated virtually.
How do I pay for the sessions?
Cancellation policy?
Cancellation notice is 48 hours. For the first missed session or cancellation within the 48 hour window, 50% of the session will be charged. Future missed or late-cancelled appointments will be subject to a full session charge.
What happens if I need to speak to you between sessions?
You are welcome to contact me via email or text message and I will respond, as available. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call the Vancouver Island Crisis Line at 1-888-494-3888 or visit your nearest emergency room department.
Are you ready to start your journey?
It is a privilege to be invited alongside someone in their pursuit of change and growth.
